classroom. This is the information I found out about their school. We are a Kindergarten through Fourth Grade Elementary School. There are about 800 children in this rural school. Many of them ride a school bus almost 45 minutes to get to school, and then again at the end of the day to get home. That's a long ride! Just now that journey is particularly beautiful. It is late fall here. The leaves are a riot of yellow, red orange, still a bit of green and more and more brown as the days pass. We have had a very warm and sunny fall. The air is just now beginning to get crisp and really cool. It is surprising that we have not had our first covering of snow. Often by now we've had a snowfall that covers the ground and then melts away in a few hours. Many of the us are glad for the warm and gentle fall. Our school has lots of different choices for families. We have regular kindergarten, first, second, third and fourth grade classes and we also have both looping and multi-age classrooms. The looping classes have children and a teacher that start together in one grade and move up to the next grade together. The multi-age classes have kindergarten, first and second grade children all together. Those children stay with their teacher for three years. There is always some students at each level in the class. We're a busy school and it's hard to keep track of what each person is doing! I am having fun meeting new people and making lots of reading friends. Happy reading to you all, Snuggles, the Traveling Hedgehog |
