Heritage Prep School are small in size with only 13 students in this 1st grade class. The
school is very multicultural. We have students from Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Hong Kong,
Mexica, Puerto Rico, and India. Several parents of the students came to visit the
classroom this week. They give information about their cultural hertiage. So far the class
has heard about a mother from Hong Kong. She taught us how to write from 1 - 10 in
Chinese. Next there was a dad from Egypt. He showed us items from his country. We also
learned to decipher our names into hieroglyphics. The class also had a mother from
Pakistan. She talked about what it was like living there.

Mrs. Thomas' class is also involved with another Internet project called Pet Exchange.
They are caring for Nipper, the Black Swan from Perth, Australia. They sent Shadow, the
groundhog to that school. Each night a child takes the animal home in a backpack and
records family events. There are many places to go see in Orlando, Walt Disney World, Sea
World, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, MGM Studios, Cape Canaveral Space Center.
Snuggles likes our classroom pet "Harry (Hairy) Houdini".
Harry is a hamster. In fact Snuggles is sleeping beside Harry right now. Harry is
complaining that Snuggles is snoring too loudly!
Thank you for letting Snuggles come and visit with us.
Love,
Mrs. Thomas' First Grade Class
