The teachers, principal and children gave
me a wonderful welcome! In the evening the teachers had a Screeching In
for me and my husband Joe, For someone visiting Newfoundland for the first
time it is a longtime custom to be Screeched In. I enjoyed it all, except
for kissing the Codfish!!
It's wonderful that a school in a small town could have
so much enthusiasm to become the winner out of thousands of entries.
Thanks to everyone, especially wonderful teacher Maureen Hiscock and
school Principal Darlene Sullivan.

I'm back from visiting Woodland Primary
School in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, the winning school of the
2011 Jan Brett Free School or Library visit.
